Tasks App - Tutorials

Last Updated: Oct 10, 2015 04:52PM PDT

Summary: A good place to start learning how to develop tasks is in the Tutorials category. Each tutorial example takes you through the process of writing, testing, saving, and running a task. The tutorial "01 A Simple Task" is the Hello World example covered in Tasks App (Creating New Tasks).

Note: A task root is available exclusively for protocol developers, called "Protocols/Mobile/Developer". Be sure to create an account on your mobile device with this root. It contains several examples of mobile protocol development.

The tutorial includes the following topics:

  • 01 A Simple Task – Explains how to create and deploy a protocol as a task.
  • 02 A Simple Chart Task – Introduction to simple mobile-optimized charts.
  • 03 A Simple Camera Task – Using mobile hardware (camera, etc.) as input to a protocol.
  • 04 A Simple Settings Task – Run-time settings to parameterize a task.

Note: While you can run the tutorials as-is, they are designed to be opened and viewed using the Pipeline Pilot Client, where you can view a series of notes that provide detailed instructions.
