Summary: New users are prompted to set up a valid password and security questions during registration prior to accessing ScienceCloud for the first time. After a password expires, you will be prompted to set up a new one before you can log into the application.

ScienceCloud account passwords expire every 90 days. After a password expires, you will be prompted to set up a new one before you can log into the application.

ScienceCloud passwords must meet the following minimum requirements when they are changed or created:

  • Passwords must be unique and contain a minimum of eight (8) characters.
  • Passwords must contain characters from three of the following categories:
  • Uppercase letters (A-Z)
  • Lowercase letters (a-z)
  • Numerals (0-9)
  • Non-alphanumeric characters:  
    ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * _ - + = ` | \ ( ) { } [ ] : ; " ' < > , . ? /
  • Cannot repeat any of the past 24 passwords

Notes: 

  • Passwords are also case-sensitive and cannot contain any spaces.
  • A user must wait a minimum of 24 hours before changing his or her password again.

Change Passwords

To change a password:

  1. From the ScienceCloud home page, click the Profile icon profile_icon.png (upper-right corner of program window).
  2. In the User Profile page that opens, select the Password tab.
  3. In Current Password, enter the password used to log into the program.
  4. In New Password, type the new password to use in place of the old one.
  5. In Confirm Password, retype the new pasword again.
  6. Click Change Password.

Forget Passwords

To reset a forgotten password:
  1. Go to https://www.sciencecloud.com and click the Login button
  2. On the login page that opens, click the Forgot Password link, located beneath the Sign In button.
  3. On the following screen, type in your First Name, Last Name, Username, and Email Address. Your Username is your ScienceCloud account username, and the Email Address should be the email address that is associated with your ScienceCloud account. Click Submit.
  4. On the next screen, you will be prompted to type the answers to the two security questions that you chose for your account. Click Submit.
  5. You will receive an e-mail with a Token. On the next screen, copy-and paste the token from the e-mail that you received, then type in your new Password and again in the Confirm password field, then click Submit.

Updating Your Email Address

Note that you cannot update your email address on your profile page. Since this represents your ScienceCloud 'identity' this can only be changed by the BIOVIA support team. You can contact our support organization for assistance.
